 IT LAND

LIVE WEBINAR   |   TUES., OCT 27   |    11 A.M. - NOON CENTRAL

TWO-WEEK REPLAY WINDOW    |    CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT AVAILABLE

EDUCATION, NONPROFIT, AND GROUP DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE.

In this one-hour session, you'll learn a repeatable process for explaining your expertise to the people who need to understand it
(AND CARE ABOUT IT ENOUGH TO ACT).

Any of these sound familiar?

Your work matters, but it isn't getting traction with the clients, funders, and community members who need to act on it.

You've been burned when someone simplified your work and the result was dumbed down...and wrong.

You find yourself getting lost in the details of a project long before anyone else understands what it's even about.

There's a running joke in your family that you must be a secret agent since no one knows quite what you do.

You're not alone.

Even the most accurate explanation can miss the mark if it's full of insider words and unnecessary detail, or if it isn't framed for your intended audience.

The good news: I'm here to show you how to fix it. Without dumbing down anything.

A process you can use again and again

YOU WALK AWAY WITH

In Make It Land, you’ll learn how to explain complex information to the people you need to understand it. I'll guide you through the four-step process I use with my own clients.

We’ll move beyond simplifying words to the deeper strategic questions that determine what belongs, what gets in the way, and what will make your audience care. â€‹It starts with the Clarity Barriers, but that's only the beginning.

We'll cover:

  • Recognizing why an accurate explanation still isn’t connecting

  • Making confident decisions about what to keep, cut, explain, or emphasize

  • Preserving meaningful complexity while reducing unnecessary friction

  • Adapting your message for different audiences and situations

  • Applying the same decision-making process to future communications

I explain complicated things to people and get people to care about complicated things.

MEET SARAH

Sarah Warren is the founder of Serif+Sway, where she helps scientists, engineers, founders, and other experts get their messages to the right people in the right way.

Her sweet spot is where strategy, writing, technical translation, and brand development overlap—turning deep expertise into compelling communication that people can understand, trust, and act on.

Before launching Serif+Sway, Sarah spent nearly 20 years communicating on behalf of engineers and scientists at a Tier One research university. She then spent two years helping launch and grow professional-development programs for financial planners through strategic marketing, web content, and corporate partnerships.

Throughout her career, Sarah has translated complex information without stripping away what makes it meaningful. Her work has helped raise millions of dollars, bring expert voices and important ideas to national audiences, and connect organizations with the people who need them most.
